Genetic Simulation using QBasic

How many offspring must a pair of pigeons produce before they have passed every gene to at least one youngster?

Program 1 - simply calculates 160 discrete genetic units.  It says we must produce 18 to 20 youngsters to get a virtually 100% chance of passing all genes.

Program 2 - simulates the crossover in both parents.  It says we must produce 22 to 25 youngsters to get a virtually 100% chance of passing all genes.
